RISE

Take Control Of Your Career To Gain the Recognition, Enjoyment and Impact You Want

(even when you have a reserved, quiet and unassuming style)

Do you feel frustrated and overlooked at work?

You’re either leading a small team or influencing without authority, but you wonder if you’re able to live up to expectations of what it means to be a leader.

Even though you’re confident in your area of expertise, you’re reluctant to draw attention to yourself - so your contribution seems to go largely unrecognised.

You feel overlooked, stuck and conflicted - feelings which are only made worse when you compare yourself to your peers.

As a result, you’re uncertain about taking on a more senior role with added responsibility - and there are times when you question if you’re in the right job altogether.

  • What if you could go from struggling to thriving at work, without changing who you are?

(Let’s see if this is the right programme for you)

“I worked with Emma over the course of several months, as I was lacking in confidence entering into a promotion for a more senior role.

I’m very grateful to have worked with Emma during a challenging period and highly recommend her as a coach. I came to the coaching experience with no expectations but I can honestly say working with Emma has been life changing for me.”

Kate Holmes, Head of Support & Information, Lullaby Trust

“You should reach out to Emma if you find lots of leadership activity uncomfortable and sometimes don’t speak up when you really want to.

I loved that she was interested in leadership and introverts. I really wanted to explore how, as an introvert, I could get comfortable in uncomfortable situations, a good example of which is self-promotion.”

Carole Ferguson-Walker, Head of Legal and Governance, LAR Housing Trust

Inside the RISE programme I guide you towards harnessing your many strengths as an introvert - so you:

Stop second-guessing yourself and your ability to perform as a leader

Put yourself forward for that promotion because you feel good about showcasing your abilities

Finally, get to be yourself at work and speak when you want to (and stay quiet when you don’t)

You are no longer exhausted at the end of each day

Become more impactful and effective because you’ve grown in confidence

Flourish as a leader who colleagues respect you

Gain recognition for your contribution within your organisation

Experience more satisfaction at work (and in your overall life)

Enjoy better relations with co-workers

Feel more positive and decisive moment-to-moment

Have more influence and autonomy in the workplace

Feel more comfortable taking on challenges and putting yourself out there

Stop comparing yourself to others because you gain greater confidence in your introverted strengths and style (and understand that you don’t need to behave like extraverts to succeed)

Improve self-esteem and ditch feelings of inferiority

Enjoy your job and the time you spend at work

“While I’ve gained leadership positions, inside I haven’t felt like a leader. I wasn’t the bold, outgoing and charismatic person I imagined a leader to be.

My mind-set changed after the coaching with Emma. I’ve gained increased self-belief and confidence about myself as a leader. I’ve become more assertive at work and raised my profile with senior managers. I’ve gained clarity over my next steps to progress in my career and have an action plan to pursue it.”

Andy Watts, Head of Trusts, Sue Ryder

The Three Touch Points Of Confidently Leading Your Way:

We work on three areas that lead you to achieving recognition, promotion and confidence at work

Tuning Into Your Natural Style and Strengths

  • You’ll get clear on what it really means to be introverted (it’s probably not what you think!), and how introversion shows up at work.

  • We uncover and tune into your natural style - so you’re better equipped to navigate tricky situations.

  • We also do a hidden strengths analysis to highlight qualities you take for granted. You’ll then learn how to harness these, and create simple habits that sustain your confidence and banish self-doubt.

  • Finally, we challenge and change unhelpful beliefs about what it means to be a leader - so you feel more confident and comfortable about being yourself at work.

“Coaching with Emma allowed me to understand that I am an introvert, and accept and understand that it is ok to be quietly confident.

Emma has helped me successfully lead multi-agency meetings which in turn has enabled me to best meet the needs of the children and their families within my care”

Angela Savage, Manager, Sheephouse Nursery

Implementing a Profile-Raising Strategy That’s Aligned With Your Introverted Temperament

  • We start by finding your voice so you can be heard at work. You’ll learn the mindset, tools and techniques that allow you to speak when you want to

  • Then, we develop a Personal PR Plan that enables you to be your own cheerleader in a way that feels comfortable. You’ll learn how to showcase your qualities and your achievements without sounding boastful or arrogant, so the people who matter know who you are and what you’re capable of.

  • Next, we look at how to build relationships in a way that energises rather than drains you. Being able to network authentically and with ease is key to nurturing your career development - but is a major challenge for many introverts.

“I had hit a barrier in my professional development. I was struggling to find an authentic way to lead and doubting whether I was suited to the position.

Emma helped me to challenge my limiting beliefs and assumptions. Investing the time in coaching with Emma has given me some immediate results at work and a clear way forward on my professional and personal journey. Highly recommended!”

Getting Clear About Where You Are, What You Want, And How To Get It

  • We’ll do a work life health check to take stock of your current situation and figure out what to keep and what to ditch.

  • Next, we craft a vision for your future so you are clear about the direction you want to head in.

  • We then identify the exact steps needed to close the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. You’ll implement this game plan into your work life while you get ongoing coaching and support in the programme.

“As a result of working with Emma I have a much improved work/life balance, and space to think and lead (rather than say yes to everything).

I feel liberated, more in control and much less worried and stressed.    I have been able to set clearer boundaries and I’m having more impact as a result. If you are thinking of working with Emma, just go for it. It has really shifted things for me.

Working With Me - What To Expect

You come first. My role is to help you figure out and achieve your goals over your 6 months within the RISE programme:

We start off with an onboarding and goal-setting call, where we lay out your objectives. For some it’s gaining a promotion, for others it’s simply to feel more comfortable in their current role.

From here I direct you to relevant content and practical exercises within the self-study resource library. Inside the library is a carefully curated selection of information and resources that support you to become more comfortable with your own communication and leadership style.

During your time in the programme, you get as much 1:1 coaching with me as you need. If you need to go deeper into your own circumstances or are uncomfortable sharing sensitive information within the group, you can talk privately with me.

The group calls are also a chance to learn from and connect with the other members of the RISE community. You don’t have to be personally coached on these calls (if you don’t want to), but there is a huge benefit for you to learn and grow by listening to others be coached through struggles that you can relate to.

In addition to the private coaching, once a week you have the opportunity to join a group coaching call with other RISE members. During these sessions, you can share specific challenges that you’re grappling with at work, and I coach you to find solutions.

When you join RISE you gain access to a dedicated Slack workspace. This is an introvert-friendly space to ask me questions and build community and connection with the other people on the programme. As you get to know each other, you’ll gain the invaluable perspective that your shared introvert traits can truly be powerful leadership qualities.

YOUR INVESTMENT

The programme is a low four-figure investment and monthly payment plans are available.

Who is a good fit for RISE?

You suspect that introversion is connected to your struggles at work - but you’re not 100% sure how much (or what to do about it).

You know you need to put yourself out there if you want your career to progress, but find networking and self-promotion draining and uncomfortable.

You wonder if you’ll ever belong in a culture that rewards people who are more gregarious, bold and brash than you are.

If you’re ready to fix this and learn how to RISE…
